AVENGED SEVENFOLD MEMBATALKAN KONSER DI JAKARTA

Selama bertahun-tahun, Jakarta, dengan banyak penggemar A7X yang setia, telah menjadi salah satu kota favorit kami untuk dikunjungi. Demikian juga dengan penyesalan terdalam bahwa kita mengumumkan malam ini (1 Mei) konser di Jakarta, Indonesia telah dibatalkan.

Setelah tiba di tempat tersebut pada pagi dan konsultasi dengan staf produksi lokal ditetapkan bahwa tahap di Pantai Carnaval tidak aman dan akan membahayakan band dan ribuan penggemar yang telah membeli tiket. Meskipun pembangunan panggung adalah tanggung jawab promotor, bukan band, kru produksi kami melakukan segala upaya untuk bekerja dengan staf lokal untuk menemukan cara untuk mengatasi kekhawatiran dan memakai sebuah acara yang aman. Sayangnya masalah keamanan terlalu besar dan tidak memungkinkan bagi kita untuk melakukan.

Anda mungkin membaca laporan dari orang lain bahwa acara itu dibatalkan karena band ini mengkhawatirkan keamanannya.Jangan percaya. Hanya ada satu alasan acara itu dibatalkan: panggung memiliki cacat banyak dan tidak aman dan fans kami, serta band dan kru, bisa saja terluka.

Kata-kata tidak dapat cukup mengungkapkan betapa kecewa kita karena kehilangan kesempatan untuk bermain di Jakarta.

Kami telah disarankan oleh promotor bahwa pengembalian dana penuh akan menjadi masalah untuk ticketholders di Ballroom Hotel Twin Plaza pada tanggal 5 Mei antara jam 10:00 dan 15:00

Penyebab Kematian Drummer A7X Terungkap

Los Angeles - Drummer band A7X, Jimmy Owen Sullivan alias The Rev ditemukan tak bernyawa pada 28 Desember 2009 lalu. Kini penyebab kematian The Rev pun terungkap.

The Rev dipastikan menghembuskan nyawa karena overdosis. Laporan pemeriksaan racun pada jenazah The Rev menunjukan adanya komplikasi kelebihan Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Diazepam/Nordiazepam dan juga etanol.

Dilansir NME, Kamis (10/6/2010) petugas otopsi Orange Country, Mitchell Sigal mengungkapkan bahwa The Rev juga mengalami pembesaran hati. Masalah tersebut bisa jadi penyebab utama kematian sang drummer.

Avenged Sevenfold akan meneruskan perjuangan mereka setelah sepeninggal The Rev. Mike Portnoy, drummer Dream Theater direkrut sebagai additional untuk tur mereka.

"Setiap hari, orangtuanya dan keluarganya di Avenged Sevenfold tersenyum mengenang kenangan manis yang mereka punya dari Jimmy dan penggemarnya di seluruh dunia mengenang karyanya setelah sepeninggalannya," tutur Larry Jacobson, manajer A7X.

Mike Portnoy Tidak Lagi Jadi Drummer A7X

Jakarta - Awal tahun 2010 Mike Portnoy membuat heboh dunia musik rock. Ia memilih hengkang dari band yang juga dibentuknya, Dream Theater. Mike memilih membantu Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) untuk menggarap album dan tur pasca kematian drummer mereka, The Rev.

Namun Mike tidak pernah benar-benar menjadi personel tetap A7X. Pria berambut keriting tersebut lebih suka dengan statusnya yang hanya sebagai additional.

Kini Mike merasa tugasnya mendampingi A7X telah berakhir. Drummer berusia 43 tahun itu pun meninggalkan M Shadows cs.

"Ketika Mike setuju untuk tur bersama kita, itu hanya sampai akhir 2010. Dia selalu tahu kalau kami perlu mencari solusi baru untuk 2011 dan seterusnya. Dan ini waktu untuk kita mengambil langkah selanjutnya," demikian rilis yang dikeluarkan A7X dilansir NME, Selasa (21/12/2010).

Mike resmi hengkang dari A7X pada 17 Desember lalu. Sebelumnya Mike sempat ditawari untuk kembali bersama Dream Theater namun ia menolaknya. Kini Dream Theater masih sibuk mencari drummer baru.

Sementara jadwal tur A7X di awal 2011 masih sangat padat. Hingga kini band yang Agustus 2008 lalu konser di Indonesia itu belum mengumumkan siapa drummer baru mereka.
